Meet Dr. Klemann

Dr. Klemann has been in the dental field since 2006, which is when she began her training to become a dental hygienist. It didn’t take her long to realize that she wanted more from her career, so she began pursuing dental school. She graduated from the Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry as a National Dental Honor Society member. After that, she chose to complete a general practice residency at the VA Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.

Who is an ideal candidate for dental implants?

Anyone with a missing tooth who is healthy enough to undergo a routine dental extraction can be considered for a dental implant. The only requirements are healthy gums and enough bone volume to hold the implant in place. However, individuals suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiac problems need to be evaluated individually to decide whether they should get a dental implant or not.

If you have a missing tooth and are interested in being evaluated for a dental implant, contact us today to request an appointment.

What is a healthy bite?

If your upper teeth fit slightly over your lower teeth and the points of your molars fit the grooves of the opposite molars, then you have a healthy bite.

What is an occlusal analysis?

Dr. Noelle conducts an occlusal analysis to ensure all the parts of a patient’s bite works together. Occlusion refers to the alignment of teeth and the way the teeth meet when the lower jaw (mandible) and upper jaw (maxilla) come together.

What is the importance of a bite adjustment?

A bite adjustment or occlusal adjustment is done to correct minor interferences that prevent your teeth from coming together properly. When your teeth work together properly, there’s less wear and tear on your mouth, a decreased risk of chipping or cracking your teeth, and a decreased risk of developing stress-related problems like jaw strain and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain.

What is occlusal equilibration?

Occlusal equilibration (or occlusal adjustment) is a dental procedure that involves selective grinding of tooth surfaces to allow your lower teeth to contact your upper teeth evenly all the way around your mouth. This treatment is done to create a solid bite that prevents any further stress on individual teeth and reduces stress on the jaw muscles and jaw joints.

Do you offer dental sedation in your practice?

Yes, Dr. Noelle offers dental sedation as an option for patients who fear dental procedures and/or worry about their vulnerability and potential discomfort associated with dental procedures.

The drugs used for dental sedation help patients relax during dental procedures. Patients are awake but sedated. If patients opt for general anesthesia for a dental procedure, however, they will be completely unconscious. This requires an outside referral.  Learn More

Does Dr. Noelle provide root canal treatment?
